“Second prince, what is the meaning of this? Why are you stopping me? This is not your problem to interfere in!”

Fei Yin didn’t give Xi Shen time to finish his sentence before he use his movement technique and left the area.

Like before Xi Shen followed him from behind.

“Oh, fellow disciple Yin I didn’t know it was you...”

“Ah, it’s you again fellow disciple Yin. My bad, I was just walking by when I saw...”

“No-no-no, you definitely misunderstand this situation fellow disciple Yin, I’m not trying to interfere I…”

“Fellow disciple Yin, you have to believe me I was just walking by when I saw you. I’m not trying to stop you from taking your life…”

After a period of several hours, the same scenario happened over and over again, with Fei Yin leaving the area and finding a place to behead himself, only to have Xi Shen stop him at the last minute.

Fei Yin had tried multiple things in order to not be followed by Xi Shen. He even went so far as to head behind waterfalls or on top of a high tree branch, as well as inside a cave.

But no matter where he went, Xi Shen seemed like his shadow that would appear every time he tried to take his life.

In the past 10 to 15 hours this weird situation was occurring, Fei Yin had tried over a dozen times to kill himself in vain.

One time, he had even brandished his sword while he was running, preparing to end it right then and there, but Xi Shen appeared beside him mid-stride and stopped him.

Fei Yin was utterly frustrated and fed up, especially since Xi Shen was giving him the exact same speech that he was just walking by when he asked to be left alone.

Having been interrupted for the umpteenth time, Fei Yin pulled out of Xi Shen’s grasp and looked at him with a face full of resentment and hatred.

Fei Yin seemed to have hit his limit and bellowed out in fury at Xi Shen, not caring if he was the second prince or not, “LEAVE ME ALONE!!! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!!!”

Fei Yin's eyes were bloodshot and his hair was in disarray. With a soft voice, he then said as several tears ran down his cheeks, “All I want is to see my family again, why are you stopping me?”

The sword in Fei Yin’s hands fell to the ground before he dropped to his knees and began wailing uncontrollably.

When Xi Shen saw the look in Fei Yin’s eyes when he said those words, it was a look of someone that had lost all the will to live.

Xi Shen’s nonchalant expression fell, and he felt a mix of emotions well up in his heart.

He was starting to wonder if it was selfish of him for keeping a person alive when they wanted nothing more than to die.

However, Xi Shen came to the conclusion that Fei Yin's decision was completely twisted, and was a cowardly move.

With mockery in his voice, Xi Shen said, “Do you think you’ll go to the same place in the afterlife as your family? Don’t make me laugh.”

When Fei Yin heard Xi Shen’s words, his body trembled uncontrollably.

Xi Shen then continued and said, “It’s completely idiotic for you to think killing yourself would allow you to see your family again. If you do, then they would look at you from the heavens with disappointment.”

Xi Shen's words angered Fei Yin, causing him to crook out, “Second prince, if you stop me once again then I’ll reveal your secret that you can actually cultivate.”

Xi Shen upon hearing this narrowed his eyes at the kneeling Fei Yin as he said, “Are you threatening me? Do you think you're in the position to threaten me you little brat? If you don’t wake up and realize what your doing is a tragic mistake then…”

Xi Shen’s words were cut short, as he suddenly sense that Fei Yin’s Spiritual Qi was going chaotic in his body.

Shocked, Xi Shen’s eyes widen, before he moved at blinding speed even faster than Fei Yin could react, and appeared next to him.

With a bellowed roar Xi Shen smacked the back of Fei Yin’s lowered head.

“CRAZY BASTARD!!!”

A loud bang echoed out as Fei Yin’s head impacted the ground hard, causing several cracks to appear. This knocked him out cold and cause his detonating dantian to come to a stop.

Looking at the unconscious Fei Yin, Xi Shen was huffing and puffing with a red face.

"This fucking brat! I can’t believe he just tried to blow himself up. Do you really want to die so badly! Why didn’t you listen to me finish talking first, you complete fool! Do you have the brain of a donkey for you to be so stubborn about this?!!"

After a while, Xi Shen's yells came to a pause, and he couldn’t help but relaxed his legs, causing his bum to land on the grassy ground.

Xi Shen looked at Fei Yin who was still unconscious before he let out a loud sigh and fell unto his back.

Due to them running around in the forest for so long the sun was beginning to set, allowing some of the star constellations to appear in the sky.

Looking at them, Xi Shen felt a wave of unfamiliarity wash over him as he mumbled under his breath, “Even the sun and star constellations are different from the ones in my past life.”

Back in Xi Shen's past life, the sky was full of more stars, or rather distant planets. The sun was also a different shade of color. This one was smaller and orange, the ones in his past life were completely red, and there were seven of them.

Even if he had been born on another side of the main universe, or into a smaller one that had developed life, which he knew he hadn’t done since Little Snow and Tai confirmed that this planet was within the main universe of the God Domain. That means he should have seen the exact same stars as well as the red suns and silver moon.

He read in the God Archives where he worked as a slave in his past life, that the Heavens created all the universes the same, and their creation followed a set pattern.

So this planet’s circumstances shouldn’t be any different.

“What exactly happened after I died? How did so much change in such little amount of time? From the bits and pieces of information in the Li Clan secret archive, the Spirit Era started 40,000 years ago. But if that was the case then the God Era was immediately before that, right? Was the God Era not 40,000 years ago, but farther back? Was it 100,000, 500,000, a million years ago?”

Overcome with these questions that lacked answers, Xi Shen's face scrunched up in anger but he soon felt that he was too weak to think about these things now and let out a sigh of frustration while closing his eyes, hoping to calm his emotions.

When he gained enough power to leave this planet and explore the universe that seemed so unfamiliar to him, then he’ll find out what had happened. For now, he was on this planet, living his semi-peaceful life as the second prince of the Maple Continent who was deemed a trash that can’t cultivate.

After bringing his focus back to his present situation, Xi Shen reopened his eyes to see the sun had already set and the stars were displaying their brilliance in the night sky.

‘Should I let the past go, and just live this new life I was given?’

A passing thought appeared in Xi Shen’s mind that was hankered down by doubt. However, like a huge wave in a turmoil river, the thought was washed away as the image of a petite girl in ragged clothes appeared in his mind.

“Maivilin…”

Xi Shen whispered a name under his breath, but in a completely different language than the one used in this Era. The language also sounded extremely archaic. The name was strange as well since not many people in this Era had such a name, well, in fact, no one in this Era had such a name or would name their son or daughter such a funny-sounding name.

After a while, the two youths, one thirteen and the other around seventeen stayed like that for a moment, with Xi Shen resting his eyes and Fei Yin being completely unconscious.

When the moon was high in the sky, was when movement came from Fei Yin. He slowly lifted his body into a sitting position while clutching at the back of his head, which was throbbing with immense pain.

Xi Shen opened his eyes and rose into a sitting position as well to look at Fei Yin.

After Fei Yin came to, he looked around for a moment confused as to where he was, but then all the memories of the day came back to him, and he quickly jumped up, his eyes darting to Xi Shen.

“Second Prince, you…!”

Fei Yin was about to yell at Xi Shen, but he suddenly paused and stared down at his hands and body in bewilderment.

He felt strange, the Spiritual Qi inside his body wasn’t flowing and no matter how hard he called upon it from his dantian, it seemed as if it was sealed by some inexplicable force that was wrapped around his dantian.
