Number 2 and number 31 walked onto the stage to face each other.

Number 2 seemed to be from the newly admitted disciples, while number 31 was a senior who had been in the academy for a year or two.

Yang Su recognized participant number 2 to be Bai Xiaofung and judging by his yellow robes one could tell he was from the Alchemy Division. His test results had shone him to be in the Blood Purifying Realm, having purified 65% of his blood.

Number 31 was a second-year called Zhang Xiang and was wearing the white robe of the Sword Pavilion. His cultivation was at the Bone Reconstruction Realm, having reconstructed 102 bones within his body, including his arm and leg bones.

As everyone saw this matchup, they all became slightly uninterested as it was obvious who was going to win.

However, as the elder shouted for the match to start, Bai Xiaofung's voice suddenly echoed out in the venue drawing everyone’s attention.

All the experts watched on at this rather peculiar scene that developed all of a sudden.

Now, most of the disciples who didn’t even care for this match began chanting for Zhang Xiang to teach Bai Xiaofung a lesson for talking so arrogantly, despite his weak cultivation.

The smile on Zhang Xiang’s face grew wider as he heard the crowd’s chanting, but his approach remain slow as he walk towards Bai Xiaofung, who was inching backwards ever so slightly.

Most people didn’t know this, but Zhang Xiang had a twisted personality.

He got off on watching people helplessly struggle while being suppressed by him. And seeing Bai Xiaofung inching away from him, he licked his lips at thought of Bai Xiaofung being scared out of his mind in his presence.

After a while, Bai Xiaofung suddenly realized he had no more space to back up, as he had reached the edge of the stage.

Zhang Xiang reveal a glint in his eyes as he saw that, and his heart started pounding with exhilaration.

Hearing the crowds cheering for him to get beaten up, and seeing the excited glint in Zhang Xiang’s eyes as he slowly approached him, Bai Xiaofung clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.

Afterward, he yelled in frustration and anger, “Alright, you people forced me to do this, I had no choice!”

Bai Xiaofung flipped his hand over as he said that, and a black medicinal pill that gave off an ominous aura appeared in his hands.

All the disciples gaze landed on this unassuming pill that Bai Xiaofung had just taken out.

Looking at Bai Xiaofung's scared and horror-stricken face as he stared at the pill, the disciples who had paused their chanting due to Bai Xiaofung's words couldn’t help but curse out loud when they saw the pill.

“It’s just a fucking medicinal pill!!”

“Are you serious, look at his expression, it’s like he's holding a massive bomb or something!! Senior brother Xiang beat the crap out of this brat for wasting our time!!”

The crowd of disciples went back to chanting even louder than before.

Clenching the pill in his hand, the hesitation in Bai Xiaofung's heart vanished, to be replaced with resolution.

“You asked for it!”

Bai Xiaofung yelled that, and then with a swish of his sleeves, the dark pill flew out towards Zhang Xiang.

The disciples chanting came to a slight pause once again, as they watched in slow motion the pill sailing across the air to land in front of Zhang Xiang before coming to a stop between his feet.

Every pair of eyes in the venue locked onto the pill waiting for something to happen, but even after several seconds, nothing happened.

This made the disciples down below faces turn red with embarrassment and anger.

Embarrassment for waiting and expecting something to happen, and anger at this Bai Xiaofung for acting so shamelessly and tricking them once again.

Even the elder off to the side, as well as the experts in the surrounding venue, had frowns on their faces.

Zhang Xiang was also angry because when Bai Xiaofung threw out the pill, he had sensed a terrifying amount of danger emanating from the pill that caused his heart to palpitate with fear, however, upon seeing that it was only a gimmick, it pissed him off to no end.

Bai Xiaofung, the target of the crowd's hatred, was currently staring at the pill between Zhang Xiang's feet dumbfounded.

“Huh? That wasn’t supposed to happen, is it a dud?”

Zhang Xiang looked up from the pill and his eyes had lost their excitement and were replaced with rage stemming from his embarrassment.

“You fucking brat, you better not forfeit cause I’m definitely going to personally skin you alive on this stage!”

After saying that Zhang Xiang took a step forward, no longer wanting to wait to get his hands on this fraudster.

Seeing that the pill hadn't produced the results it should have, as well as Zhang Xiang’s rage-filled eyes, Bai Xiaofung quickly took out another pill ready to chuck it at Zhang Xiang, however, amidst the crowds yelling, a barely audible crunching noise echoed out, as Zhang Xiang stepped on the charcoal-black medicinal pill.

Suddenly, Zhang Xiang felt all the hairs on his body standing on end, and he sensed the hands of death grip his throat violently. Without any hesitation whatsoever he push off the ground and backed away from Bai Xiaofung as quickly as he could.

All the disciples who were chanting were suddenly taken aback by his actions, but before they could question it, an anonymous droning sound suddenly echoed out on the stage, which sounded as if it was signaling the coming of a calamity.

What followed after was exactly that.

A terrifying explosion so huge, that its shockwave ruthlessly slammed against the chests of some disciples that were closer to the stage, knocking them away, suddenly engulfed almost the entirety of the stage.

If you were to look at the mountain from afar, you could even catch a glimpse of a miniature cloud of mushroom raising into the air.
