Chapter 69

Hawk’s cool voice pierced through the fog of sleep that shrouded Elliot’s mind and instantly jarred him awake with the news that he had been waiting for.

He glanced down at the large egg that he had been holding and noticed several hairline cracks all over it.

“Excellent. It’s finally hatching.” Elliot thought as he sat up and prepared to tame it.

He was sitting on a huge bed in a relatively huge bedroom in a huge mansion in the rich part of town. The other two girls were sharing an even bigger bedroom next to his. Winter was spending the night with them to give them a sense of security, just in case the spiders came back.

Elliot was, of course, alone. He needed no protection from weak mutated spiders, even if there were any of them still alive.

“I’m level 60 now, so I won’t have any problems taming it, right Hawk?”

[Affirmative.]

Elliot nodded and waited for the baby Archaic Kaijin to make its way out of its shell.

After a few minutes of patiently waiting, the egg finally cracked open.

Crack!!

A cute little white lizard arm pierced through the eggshell.

“White?” Elliot was surprised. He wasn’t expecting a white Archaic Kaijin to come out from an almost-black shell.

Crack!!!

Another white arm pierced the eggshell.

The Archaic Kaijin was really taking its own sweet time to come out of its shell!

No wonder it died miserably to the other Armored Kaijins in the previous iteration.

After a few more minutes of lazy cracks, the eggshell finally burst open when its head and wings burst out of the egg.

“Wings?? And only four limbs and one head??” Elliot was extremely pleasantly surprised. “Hawk! Isn’t this’¦ A dragon??”

And what a beautiful white dragon it was! It was completely covered with beautiful white scales which covered its small yet supple body perfectly. It had two cute horns poking out of its head which gave it a really majestic look.

[Negative. It is not a dragon.]

Elliot frowned lightly. He was unconvinced!

“Does it breathe fire?” He asked Hawk again.

[Negative. It does not breathe out fire. It does, however, breathe out a freezing beam of ice energy.]

“It’s a Frost Dragon then!” Elliot cried up triumphantly.

[Negative. It is not a dragon.]

“Why is it not a dragon? What does a real dragon have that this Archaic Kaijin does not?” Elliot refused to give up and pressed Hawk with more questions.

[A real dragon is a powerful creature able to wield mystical arcane energies. This Archaic Kaijin does not have the power to wield any mystical arcane energy.]

“Oh. I see. That’s alright, I’m happy enough with a traditional Frost Dragon without any magic power.” Elliot chuckled. He totally did not expect the ancestor of the Armored Kaijin was actually a dragon!

Elliot didn’t give a whit about real dragons and arcane energies and whatnot.

He got a Frost Dragon!!

He pricked his finger and the little Archaic Kaijin’s arm. It hissed at Elliot bravely even though it was a mere fraction of Elliot’s size.

When their mindspace finally formed, Elliot was pleasantly surprised once more.

It was an extremely solid and stable space that was filled to the brim with power and a deep sense of confidence even though it was mere seconds old.

A true indication of a beast’s potential and power. It’s stats appeared in his mind.

“Hiss!” Frosty (Elliot had already named it the second he realized it was a Frost Dragon) looked at its little arm and then at Elliot accusingly.

“Hehehe, yes I did nick you a little bit there. I had to do that so that I can talk to you this way. I’m Elliot. You’re Frosty.” Elliot immediately started chatting to fill its newborn mind with his voice and his attitude and his presence.

“I’ll be taking good care of you in the future, and I’ll be providing you with lots of food too. Do you know what’s food? Food are things that you eat. Here! Have a candy!” Elliot smiled gently at Frosty and tossed him a Small Beast Taming Candy which he got way back when he was level 1.

Frosty sniffed at it for a moment before brightening up and chomping it down hungrily. It looked at Elliot with its big, trusting eyes and smacked its lips.

“More!” She demanded.

Elliot chuckled lightly and tossed a few chunks of snake meat he had harvested from the Hell Venom Anaconda yesterday.

“It wouldn’t have any effect right? Since the Hell Venom Anaconda was merely a Rare Grade beast?” Elliot asked Hawk the AI.

[Affirmative.]

“What about the other beast cores I have with me, are there any more among them aside from the Mythical Spider’s that are suitable for Frosty to consume?” Elliot asked Hawk as he quickly took out the beast cores he had with him.

A Hell Venom Anaconda beast core, a Mutated Gojira beast core, a Mutated Primal Feline Warrior beast core, a Brood Mother beast core, a Mutated Purple Brood Mother beast core and a Mythical Grade beast core.

He didn’t bother taking out the Great Sage’s beast core as it was too precious to Wu Kong at the moment. And he didn’t think that it was suitable for a dragon to consume anyway.
