Chapter 76: A Simple Question

With one hand carrying Meng Xiang, and the other holding onto the Flaming Viper’s burning tail, Tian Yi said, “What Senior?! I am only 18 Years Old!”

“...”
“Eh? Ah… I am sorry...?” The blind girl did not know how to answer him.
“...”
After a few more seconds of silence, she said, “S-Sir, your hand…” She was worried about his bared hand that was holding onto the Flaming Viper made of Divine Flames.
“Oh, this thing? I don’t feel anything, so it’s fine,” He replied with a calm voice, it was as if he wasn’t even touching Divine Flames but air.
“...” She was instantly speechless! What kind of Heavenly materials was his body made out of to touch Divine Flames, and an Enraged one at that like it’s nothing?
*ROOOOOOAAAAARRRRR*
The Flaming Viper had a heart attack when it's fear suddenly appeared out of thin air and grabbed its tail.
*RRRRRRROOOOOOOAAARRRR*
It twisted and squirmed around like crazy, but no matter how much it struggled, it was unable to move its tail even an inch!
“Aiya, stop squirming around like a worm, you’ll hit somebody like that.” Joked Tian Yi.
“?!?” The blind girl could not believe that he was able to make a joke in this situation!
“Meng Xiang, let’s start.” Tian Yi said while putting her down.
“Un.” She nodded.
“Remember what I taught you during the 4th day of training? Do that,” He said before letting go of the Flaming Viper.
*RRROOOOAAARRR*
The Flame Viper did not attack after being released. Instead, it fled the other direction at max speed!
“Where do you think you are going?” Tian Yi flipped his palm, and a wisp of Golden Flames shot into the sky before spreading out. It formed a barrier made of Golden Flames around the entire place that blocked out the sun.
“!!!!!!!” The Flaming Viper instantly halted in its tracks.
“...” It no longer roared or moved. Instead, it stood there staring at the beautiful Golden Flames.
After a few more seconds, it slowly lowered its head to the ground as if it was worshipping the Divine Flames that closed off its escape route!

“...” Xuan Cheung and Xuan Yuming stupidly stared at the Golden Flames that barricaded the entire stage. Their trembling wide eyes were clearly showing disbelieve and shock, unable to believe the scene they were witnessing.
“S-Such peerless Divine Flames…” Whispered Xuan Cheung. That was how he felt the moment he laid his eyes on theses Golden Flames. As a Pill Grandmaster, he has been around Divine Flames long enough to understand any Divine Flames he comes across, yet no matter how hard he looked at these Golden Flames, he could not understand them. He was getting the same feeling as when he was only starting the path of a Pill Master, unable to comprehend anything!
The Golden Flames glittered as if it held countless of stars within it. The Aura it was sending out made everybody there feel comfortable and relaxed even though they were in such a situation.
“...” Xuan Wanshan stood there with a weird expression on her face. She was going through many emotions at this moment.
What did it mean for Tian Yi to have Divine Flames? It meant that her Disciple was also a Pill Master! Just a week ago she was happy at the fact that her Disciple was not perfect, meaning she still has something to teach him. She had also planned on learning more about Pill Masters and Pills in general when they get back to the Sect so that she can teach him. However, now looking at him and his Divine Flames, what else could she teach him as his Master? Although she does not know how talented he was in Pill Concocting, she knew one thing for sure, and that was these Golden Flames were peerlessly beautiful. How can someone with such Divine Flames be untalented in Pill Concocting?! How can someone who can control Divine Flames so perfectly and make such a huge barrier in a split second be an amateur in Pill Concocting?!
‘What a warm feeling,’The blind girl thought. She has never had such a feeling before. It was as if she was being protected by a mysterious shield, and felt that even if the World were to collapse right now, she would be fine.
‘Wha--?! This won’t be a test if it just sits there…’ Tian Yi frowned.
He only wanted to trap it so that if it wanted to escape, the only choice was to attack him and break the barrier, not such a situation where it just gives up entirely.
‘Return,’ the Golden Flames suddenly got extinguished, revealing the blue sky once again.
“...?” The Flaming Viper was confused at the sudden change and looked back at Tian Yi who was looking away while whistling as if he no longer cared about it.
‘What the hell is he doing?!’The spectators cried inside their heart.
*Whistle* *Whistle*
Tian Yi was looking around at the sky as if he was looking for birds, completely ignoring the Flaming Viper.
“...” The Flaming Viper hesitated at first, but then it began running away again.
“Tian Yi! What are you doing?! That thing has enough power to flip the city upside down! Stop it!” Xuan Wanshan yelled at him.
*Whistle* *Whistle*
But he continued to ignore the escaping Flaming Viper.
“Tian Yi! You---”
“Cauldron!” A cute voice cried out.
*Dong*
A 3 Meters tall Cauldron made of Pure White Jade appeared in front of Meng Xiang.
“That’s--- IMPOSSIBLE!!!” Xuan Cheung’s eye’s popped out of his eye sockets.
Since he was a kid, he has been reading books about rare Cauldrons, and out of all the rare Cauldrons that existed, there was three that he wished he had even if his death would be the price of obtaining it. And these three that caught his attention was the Three Ancient Divine Cauldrons, each with their own Heaven Defying abilities that every Pill Master wished to obtain.
Ever since he learned of the existence of the three Ancient Divine Cauldrons, he has been studying them nonstop in hoping to find one someday. But alas, no matter how far he traveled and how much he searched, there was not even a single clue about the three Ancient Divine Cauldrons. However, in the most unexpected time and unexpected way, he has finally graced his eyes upon one of the three Ancient Divine Cauldron, the Taintless Jade Cauldron. The ancient records that he read described the Taintless Jade Cauldron as a peerlessly beautiful Cauldron made of an unknown kind of White Jade. There were also many different kinds of drawing that showed how it looked like, but none of them were reliable as nobody has actually seen it before. But now out of nowhere, the one in front of him looked exactly like that one painting he saw back when he was a kid, the very first book that got him interested in the three Ancient Divine Cauldrons!
“Open!” The lid came off the White Jade Cauldron.
“Swallow!”
*Whoosh*
Silver Flames suddenly poured out of the Cauldron’s opening and transformed into the shape of a giant hand.
*RRROOOAAARRR*
The Flaming Viper’s instinctively looked back to see a giant hand made of Silver Flames chasing after him.
“?!?!?!?!?!” It tried to increase its speed, but it did not matter as the giant hand caught him within the next second and dragged it into the Cauldron’s mouth.
After confirming that the Flaming Viper was inside, Meng Xiang closed back the lid, “Seal!”
*Dong* The lid closed, trapping the Flaming Viper inside the Cauldron.
“Good, now use your Divine Flames to subdue it,” Tian Yi gave her instructions.
“Big Brother, how do I do that?” Meng Xiang asked.
“Hmmm, imagine that snake like it’s tea leafs and purify it without burning it,” He said.
“Oh! Okay,” She nodded and began repeating what she has been doing the past week.
“...”
“...”
“Big Brother, I’m done.” She said a few moments later.
“Good, open the lid and let me see,” He nodded.
“Un,” She opened the lid back up, and a ball of Orange Flame slowly came out.
Tian Yi grabbed it with his bare hands and inspected it, “Un. You did a fantastic job, you pass. I’ll give you a reward later,” He smiled at her.
Meng Xiang smiled brightly after hearing his praises and hugged him vigorously, “Thank you, Big Brother!”
“Hahaha, wait until I return this thing back to its owner,” He laughed while rubbing her head.
“Back you go!” He suddenly threw the Divine Flames in his hand, and it flew straight into the still unconscious Gin Seng lying somewhere on the ground.
*Sssss*
The Divine Flames burned through his clothes before sinking into his body.
*Pap* *Pap*
‘All done,’ Tian Yi smiled while dusting off his hands.

“...” Xuan Cheung’s eyes have yet to return to his sockets, and he sat there with his jaws on the floor.
“...” Xuan Yuming had an expression like she just woke up from some nightmare.
“...” Xuan Wanshan stood there silently. Nobody knew what was on her mind.
“...” The contestants had their butts glued to the floor. Their legs had given up on them long ago!
“S-Senior…” The blind girl accidentally whispered.
Tian Yi snapped his head back and glared at her.
“Ah!” She covered her mouth after realizing what she had just said.
“...” However, he did not say anything and only stared at her.
“Tian Yi,” A calm voice suddenly called out to him.
“Hm?” He looked to the direction of that familiar voice to see Xuan Wanshan walking towards the exit with a calm expression.
‘She’s not mad, is she?’ He began to worry.
“What are you doing? Let’s head back to our hotel; I have something to tell you,” She looked at him and said with a casual tone as if what happened just now did not occur at all and left the stage that was wrecked beyond recognition.
“Coming! Let’s go,” He said to Meng Xiang before starting to walk away from the stage.
“Wait!”
A voice called out, and he felt someone tugging his sleeves.
“What is it?” He turned around to ask the blind girl who was also the one grabbing his sleeves tightly.
“Sen--- Sir, please accept me as your Disciple!” She said in a wavering tone.
“Eh?” Tian Yi stood there with amazement. He did not expect her to say something like that!
“But---”
“Please!” She interrupted him.
“I will do anything you want me to! If I have to crawl through blades and swim through lava just to become your Disciple, I will do it without a single complaint!” She was willing to put her life on the line just to become his Disciple. It did not matter if she was only one year younger than him nor did she care if she had to go through hell. It would all be worth it if she could become his Disciple!
“...” Tian Yi did not answer her and only looked at her silently.
“You will die if you swim through lava, so unless I want a dead Disciple, why would I ask you to do that?” He finally replied, but what came out of his mouth was not an answer.
“I---I…” She did not know what to say!
“Let’s see… If you can answer this question for me, then I’ll accept you as my Disciple. How about it?” He suddenly said.
“Really?! I will do it!” She said.
“Good, then---”
“Sir! If I answer it correctly, can you accept me as your Disciple too?!” Someone jumped in.
“?” Tian Yi turned around to see an incredibly beautiful girl with her head bowed. It was Huang Li who spoke that sentence.
“Sir, I would like to answer that question too!”
“Me too!” The other contestants also bowed.
“...” Xuan Cheung and Xuan Yuming just recently returned from their shock, but after witnessing such a scene, they went back into shock again. Genius Pill Masters from around the World was begging their Daughter’s Disciple to accept them as his Disciple! However, rather than looking down on them, the both of them understood their feelings very well. After seeing his Divine Flames, even they wanted to ask for guidance! What kind of parents would ask their Daughter’s Disciple to become their Master?
“...” Tian Yi stood there thinking silently. Nobody there knew what was on his mind.
‘Pei. These Mortals want my Master to accept them as Disciples? Do they even know how high the Mountain they are trying to climb is?’ Sneered Yan Yan.
“...” Yu Yue stayed silent.
“Sir?” Huang Li asked again.
“Un. Okay, if anyone of you can answer my question, then I’ll accept you as my Disciple!” He finally said.
“Thank you, Sir!” They all bowed with a huge smile hanging on their face. They did it! They finally have the chance to accept such a Heaven Defying Master!
“Then here’s my question,” He took a deep breath before continuing, “Who are you?”
“Huh?” The people there were dumbfounded. That’s it? That was the question that’s going to convince him to accept them as Disciple?
Tian Yi noticed their confused face and thought they had missed his question, "Did you not hear the question? I'll say it again, so listen carefully."
"Who are you?"
‘I didn't hear incorrectly... T-This is such a simple question, yet it is so difficult to answer…’ They all thought.
If they were in a normal situation, all of them would say their name, but this was not one of these typical cases. Who among them was stupid enough to throw away such a Heaven-sent chance by answering with their name?
“...”
They began trying to figure out the real meaning behind that question.
“...”
The entire place had turned silent.
