Chapter 27: Coquettish Chi Yunmeng, the Ruthless Zhao Renzhou

Upon hearing Zhao Zhan’s words, Zhao Ning squinted his eyes and looked over.

“Oh?” Zhao Ning said, curious.

“What advantages do I have?” Zhao Ning inquired further.

“Tell me,” he continued, giving off an air of certainty that Zhao Zhan couldn’t answer.

Zhao Zhan swallowed hard, cold sweat dripping down his forehead.

“Well, how should I put it…” Zhao Zhan began hesitantly, “You’re younger than her.”

“As a man,” he added, “no matter how old you are, you prefer younger women. Chi Yunmeng is just taking advantage of these years to flirt with men.

In a few years, when she’s older and loses her charm, can Big Brother still want her? When she’s old and faded, you’ll still be in your prime. That’s the advantage.”

He patted his younger sister’s shoulder as Zhao Zhan didn’t even finish his cigarette before hastily making his exit. While Zhao Ning listened to Zhao Zhan’s analysis, she nodded thoughtfully.

However, as Zhao Zhan was about to descend the stairs, Zhao Ning suddenly had a realization. What did he mean by the advantage of age?

Are you saying… from head to toe? From face to figure? I don’t have any of that to compare to Chi Yunmeng, that seductive woman! Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ ɴøvᴇlFɪre.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

“You stop right there!” Zhao Ning stood on the second-floor deck and shouted down at Zhao Zhan, who was hurrying downstairs.

Zhao Zhan was so frightened that he rushed into the cabin, leaving Zhao Ning alone on the deck, seething with anger.

In the Dragon Nation, in the Tazhai Village…

It had been several days since the last meeting. Lin Yaohui, the head of the third branch, had been waiting impatiently, but he received no news.

Frustrated, he decided to go directly to Lin Yaodong’s residence.

As he entered the ancient and elegant courtyard, Lin Yaohui shouted, “Lin Yaodong! Come out!”

Lin Yaohui’s face darkened as he stood in front of the door, with members of the third branch positioned behind him one by one.

They had an unmistakable air of determination, as if they wouldn’t rest until they got what they wanted.

Creak…

The door to Lin Yaodong’s room opened, but the first person to step out was not Lin Yaodong; it was his younger brother, Lin Yaohua, who also served as the head of the second branch.

Lin Yaohua came out with a cold expression, asking, “What’s going on? Do you want to rebel?!”

“Hmm?!” Lin Yaohua was usually the stern and intimidating figure in the village, so his presence had a certain level of authority. The members of the third branch were momentarily taken aback by his stern demeanor.

However, Lin Yaohui was undeterred. He said, “Cut the nonsense!

Where’s Lin Yaodong? We must have an explanation today. It’s been days since the meeting! What about the news on Shengwen and Shengwu? Where did he disappear to?

Tell him to come out!”

Lin Yaohua’s face darkened even more, and he pointed at Lin Yaohui as if they were about to come to blows. But then, a dispassionate voice came from behind them.

“Yaohua.”

It was Lin Yaodong’s voice. Upon hearing it, Lin Yaohua let out a cold snort and lowered his arm. Lin Yaodong emerged from the room.

Lin Yaodong spoke leisurely, “Why did you bring so many people? Do you want to fight? Do you still not respect me as the village head?”

Standing before the room, Lin Yaodong looked at the crowd. Nobody said a word, but they all felt an immense pressure sweeping over them.

Lin Yaohui fixed his gaze on Lin Yaodong and said through gritted teeth, “What happened to Shengwen and Shengwu? Give me a straightforward answer.

We can’t wait aimlessly like this. If there’s no news, I’m taking people to the Northern Myanmar headquarters!”

Lin Yaodong’s face darkened, and he scolded, “Do you think Northern Myanmar is a safe place? We’ve already lost a group of people there! You, as the head of the third branch, want to send more?

The two previous groups we sent to Northern Myanmar all met with accidents.”

“Ordinary roles won’t cut it anymore,” Lin Yaodong stated firmly. “I’m trying to contact Mindeng. Within three days, I’ll get back to you. Take your people and go back.”

Lin Yaohui’s expression changed drastically, but he didn’t argue. He hadn’t expected the situation to escalate to this point. They had to contact Mindeng, someone well-versed in the affairs of the Golden Triangle.

Mindeng had risen to prominence in recent years, rivaling the old-guard generals of the drug trade. He held sway over most of Kachin State in Northern Myanmar.

Things had gotten so bad that Lin Yaodong had no choice. He had done all he could. Reluctantly, Lin Yaohui clenched his teeth and said, “Fine. Three days, just three days…” He stared intensely at Lin Yaodong.

They withdrew with their group. As they watched the members of the third branch depart, Lin Yaohua sneered dismissively, “What a bunch…”

Lin Yaodong remained silent, his face cold, and he turned back into the room.

The next day, in Northern Myanmar, Kachin State, in the town of Gawe, at a villa on the second floor, a gentle morning breeze rustled through the room.

Shards of a deep red dress lay scattered on the floor, lightly moving with the breeze.

The two people in the bed were fast asleep.

The ringing of a cellphone interrupted the tranquility.

Zhao Renzhou immediately opened his eyes. It was a side effect of the serum, keeping him perpetually alert. Sleep was just a physiological need for him. The moment he opened his eyes, he was instantly awake.

He sat up calmly and retrieved his cellphone:

“What’s up?” Zhao Renzhou asked as he answered the phone.

On the other end, Zhao Bao’s voice came through, “Big Brother, Ah Zhan and Ah Ning’s team has already landed at the port. They should arrive this afternoon.”

Zhao Renzhou nodded and said, “I see. Thanks for letting me know.”

Then, an eerie silence fell over the phone. After a few seconds, Zhao Renzhou raised an eyebrow and asked, “Is there anything else?”

Zhao Bao hesitated on the other end and replied, “Uh… there’s nothing else…”

Zhao Renzhou rubbed his temples in frustration and asked, “Did you really need to report this? They won’t arrive until this afternoon anyway.”

There was an awkward pause on the phone. Zhao Bao finally decided to reveal something, “Well, you see…”

“It was Ah Ning’s side that asked me to inform you,” Zhao Bao explained. “They wanted me to make sure you knew. You go ahead and do your work. I’ll hang up now.”

Beep… Beep… Beep…

The busy signal sounded as the call ended. Zhao Renzhou furrowed his brow on his end, took a deep breath, and muttered to himself, “That stubborn girl, Ah Ning…”

“Hey~” came a voice from the room. “Your little lover is coming back, huh?”

It was Chi Yunmeng, who had somehow awakened and was lying on the bed like a fox, grinning at him.

Zhao Renzhou gave her an exasperated look and said, “Get lost. She’s my sister.”

The main issue was that, after their memories merged, it was hard to develop any interest in someone they had seen grow up, especially when that person was as stubborn as Ah Ning.

Chi Yunmeng rolled her eyes and retorted, “You still care about that? My sister is even younger than Zhao Ning.”

“You’re thinking about her too, aren’t you…” Chi Yunmeng teased.

Zhao Renzhou scoffed, “You beast!”

Suddenly, Chi Yunmeng had an idea for some fun. She rolled over, shifting to the other side of the bed with a thin sheet draped over her body.

She reached out to the bedside table, grabbed a tube of lipstick, and skillfully applied it. Then, she knelt and stood up, heading towards Zhao Renzhou.

Zhao Renzhou raised an eyebrow but didn’t move, curious about what this woman was up to. He watched as Chi Yunmeng’s lips curled into a sly smile.

She leaned down towards Zhao Renzhou’s neck and planted a deep red kiss there, leaving behind a clear and distinct lipstick mark.

The mark looked like a deliberate branding, easily visible, and the texture of the lipstick’s imprint was almost lifelike. Chi Yunmeng wrapped her arms around Zhao Renzhou’s neck, her intentions clear.

Chi Yunmeng couldn’t help but smirk before slowly drifting back to sleep, completely unaware of what was happening.

As soon as Zhao Renzhou left the room, he used his hand to wipe away the lipstick mark with a few strokes. He then grabbed a towel and gently cleaned his neck.

He couldn’t believe he had brought this woman to see Zhao Ning. If Zhao Ning saw that lipstick mark, she would definitely go berserk. Chi Yunmeng was asking for trouble…

[In Chi Yunmeng’s dream: ?]. [You’re a real beast, aren’t you?!]. [Rough!]. [Did you waste your sleep?!].
