“That’s right.”
“Uh, the swordmaster’s author. Apparently, she had reported a case involving a magician before. He managed to include that case’s charge with this one. She included the names of the journalists as the possible suspects and technically they did lurk around her house for a long time so there’s nothing wrong with this charge.”
“Wow.”
“She wrote a very detailed description of the suspect. It made our job way easier.”
Cases involving a magician of the Magic Tower were treated as a priority because of the magical nature of the case.
Because of that, magicians were the City Hall’s biggest trouble so no prior notice was sent when arresting a suspect or summoning a related person.
It was because there was a chance of the magician casting hypnosis magic or illusion magic.
That’s why investigators all wanted to avoid magician-related cases.
And because no prior notice was sent, investigators were not allowed to tell the suspects or related persons what they were being investigated for. But the investigators had to make them comply.
While the investigators struggled to come up with a vague but convincing reason, the magicians and related persons sued the City hall for invading their rights, spread a conspiracy theory, and talked badly about the City Hall about 10 times worse than usual. And even worse, in most cases arrests could not even be made in the end.
“Awesome.”
“Right? The investigators are picking draws for the order for investigation. They are all so excited about it. I never thought a day like this would come.”
The two looked at each other and smiled cunningly.
According to precedent, City Hall could extend the investigation by not revealing any information to the journalists, summoning them whenever, and asking vague questions.
It would all be stopped forcefully in about a month but that was enough time to investigate the Morning of Glory Newspapers.

Alex looked at Lockhart yelling with all his might inside the interrogation room and drank her coffee.

She wrote about the methods that could be used to effectively mess up the journalists. Evil intent emitted from her cute, bubbly handwriting.

Informant A saw his smile and rubbed his arms just like Informant B did earlier.

Eva remembered what Glenn said about the limitations of investigations and also what could be done within the legal parameter.
Even stalking allegations that were usually considered ‘not so important’ could be used to mess up with anyone.
Even with magicians.
‘I just had another unique stalking incident recently. I would like to include this too in the charges if possible?’
That’s why Eva ingeniously phrased her words.
The stalking has been going on for some time now and there was more than one stalker.
So, Eva wrote about how there are so many suspects and that she isn’t sure which one is the stalker but that she knew one of them was definitely a magician since she received an artifact.
If the suspects were normal people, it would be hard for such an ambiguous charge to go through but it was different if one of the suspects was a magician.
And Eva had the artifact as proof.
Technically, Eva didn’t lie about anything.
She only wrote the details of the people she met more than twice when she accompanied Brigitta to her work and back home.
And there were witness records from her and the neighbors and a previous report about a magician.
These were enough to connect the dots and file a charge.
The Emperor’s beloved author tore down the prejudice Glenn had formed in his mind based on her fragile appearance as she and cleverly reported all this.
The Chancellor was one of the busiest people in Lesa but he put aside all his duties and focused on linking Eva’s reports with the Morning of Glory Newspapers.
After he sent a reply full of conspiracy 2 hours later to Eva, she filed a written report in the City hall.
All this tactful conspiracy was plotted and executed in just a day.
“She has outstanding memory, spite, cleverness, and acting power. Amazing. I really want to hire her.”
By now, the City Hall would be excitedly investigating the Morning of Glory Newspapers.
Just thinking about it made him full even though he hadn’t eaten anything yet.
Informant A looked at Glenn burying himself in his chair with a big smile and shook his head fearfully and focused on his work.
The case about the mine in the West was urgent. He had no time to spare in staring at his boss’s horrifying smile.

Brigitta smiled at the knights in dresses praising her and turned back to Amber, who was locking arms with her.
