And finally. The disciple and the teacher headed to the 2nd Training Court. 

“Attention everyone. Today, His Majesty decided to aid us in training.”

Brigitta stood in front of the 2nd Order of Knights and pointed towards the Emperor. 

The knights wondered. 

They weren’t afraid of the Emperor’s intimidating aura since they had the pride of being the Royal Knights but they were curious. 

They couldn’t dare speak in front of the Emperor so they shared messages through eye contact. 

It was obvious but the Emperor was the Royal Knights’ master and idol. 

His stories were heroic epics that were told to children–though the Emperor himself was very embarrassed by this fact–and there were many children of the knights who grew up to these tales and became Royal Knights 10 years later. 

To them the Emperor Karlos was the hero in the epics they grew up to and at the same time was a good Emperor who ended the war and cared deeply about the aftermaths. 

However, Karlos had no clue since after he saved his personal knights from being assassinated, he decided to stay alone for the sake of their dignity. 

Plus, the Emperor poured his energy into peace within the empire so despite being the God of War, he met more often with nobles who were professionals in civil service than nobles who were professionals in the military. 

So the soldiers and the Royal Knights, including the 2nd Order of Knights, never had the chance to meet the Emperor. 

But this new swordmaster and temporary Knights Commander used her own acquaintance to make His Majesty come here!

The knights cheered internally like children who just met their favorite opera singer. 

But their excitement never showed externally thanks to the Royal Knights’ harsh training and discipline. 

Brigitta smiled proudly and shouted. 

“You are the Royal Knights. What are you?”

“That’s right. Then what you need is balls to fight until death and the bakery…. is that right? anyway today, His Majesty is here to help you with that.”

She probably meant ‘bravery’ not ‘bakery’ but the knights of the 2nd Order of Knights could not dare fix her from the fear they developed from her harsh training. 

‘What is she planning to do even involving the Emperor?’ The knights started trembling a little and Brigitta commanded an order that would make them freak out. 

“Now, think of His Majesty as an enemy and swear at him and fight him. The meaner and worse the better.”

What the hell.

The Knight in the front thought he heard it wrong and asked “Did I hear that right sire?”. 

Normally their temporary Commander would slur at them for not listening properly but this time she just said “ah.” and turned to Karlos. 

“Your Majesty, please allow that.”

“Hm. I swear with my name and my father’s that I will not punish anyone for what they say to me here today. You can tell me anything you wanted to tell me. Attack in pairs.”

“You heard that.”

What were they talking about..

Karlos silently looked around the 2nd Order of the Knights who started shaking, in vain of their harsh training and strong discipline. 

To them his shining eyes looked like the Reaper’s glowing eyes. 

‘What did we do wrong, temporary Commander.’

They protested silently but Brigitta did not get their message at all. 

Yes, that’s how the 2nd Order of the Knights became the victims.

The result of the training was 50% disappointment and 50% effective. 

It was because despite being granted the permission to, no one dared to swear at the Emperor. 

There were in fact people swearing at Brigitta though. 

When one of the knights that was as big as Karlos charged towards her crying and yelling, “So what if you are a swordmaster! Hueeeaa!” that even he was a little surprised. 

Also there was “I got dumped by my girlfriend because of your face!” and “Your Majestyyyyyyyyyy, Your MajestyyyyyyY! please change the commanderrrr!!!” Anyway there were many comments of this sort. 

He was curious how tough her training was that they became like this in a week. 

Anyway. It was mainly confusion and pity instead of anger and annoyance but they still succeeded in making him as emotionally unstable as he was during the war. 

The book the Emperor found in the Royal Library seemed to be a book or martial arts but it was mostly based on hands-on combat. 

Karlos did not know exactly why but he decided to try the method that was to be used in extreme situations–Breathing Technique. 

His most extreme situation was war and to recreate that, the helpers needed to be skilled like the Royal Knights. 

Whenever the young knights made mistakes from his thickening intimidating aura, Karlos knocked them out one by one and tried to bring inner peace. 

‘I can do it. I can do it.’

‘The big guy crying in front of me is a poor 3-year old.’

‘No that’s even worse. Not that.’

He was fine with the female knight that was somehow aiming for his shirt and Brigitta who was somehow cheering her.

Karlos’s eyes swayed like the autumn leaves as he fought the 2nd Order of Knights. 

And about 3 hours later. When all of the knights were down puking or crying, Brigitta commanded something terrible. 

“We will repeat this training tomorrow.”

Other than the big guy–Eric suddenly passing out from that order, Karlos was quite satisfied with the training.

There was a rumor spread between the knights and the soldiers that His Majesty became weird after Duke Gardelli left the country. 

People felt sorry for the 2nd Order of the Knights who were crying out and screaming in the 2nd Training Court and at the same time were excited to watch them. 

It was not a common sight to see not anyone else but the Emperor himself fighting. 

Because of that for the past 3 days, when it was a little over 2 pm, people gathered around the training court with packed food. 

Knights and soldiers came to watch the Emperor’s swordsmanship, the civil officers or maids and servants were curious of the Emperor’s skills they only heard of in tales.

The Emperor, Josef the 2nd, was truly strong. 

His inherited strength, movements, and reflexes, everything was at a different level from them.

There was no one here that saw the Emperor fighting alone at war and even if they did, they never saw him fighting this closely.

Since all of them were dead. 

The first day ended with them yelling and screaming like hogs but they were still the Royal Knights. 

When there was an opponent in front of them–despite that being the Emperor–they fought to win. 

They were frightened the first day, they wondered why he was doing this in the second, and they became determined on the third day. 

They wanted to at least touch the Emperor’s clothes. 

‘Was that even human? Was he really the God of War like the media says?’

There were 2~3 Royal knights charging towards him but why were they the one getting knocked out?

They were dumbfounded. 

Plus, the Emperor’s intimidating aura was decreasing from the first day. 

It was obvious that he was barely fighting them. 

It hurt their ego. 

What did they possibly do to deserve getting publicly shamed in front of everyone?

Some fiery ones protested to Brigitta but the only thing that came back was a 3 hour long squat. 

The knights who finished squatting grabbed their throbbing thighs and teared up saying the temporary commander has no mercy. 

“Arrrghh!”

90% of the Royal Knights were nobles. Most were the second child or younger and few were the eldest. 

These people rolled in the ground to fight the Emperor. 

The 1st Order of Knights looked at them with a bitter smile and comforted them and most soldiers, mostly commoners, thought they were amazing. 

The state of the 2nd Order of Knights was that desperate. 

“Hm.”

But the Emperor was peaceful like no other. 

He did not judge their skills. He just stood there and continued accepting their challenges. 

Like a high and stern wall. 

Big guy, Eric even felt despair.

The eyes of the Emperor who so easily blocked Eric’s swords like a butterfly wing movement were tranquil. 

Eric was one of the kids who liked the Emperor’s epics. 

He joined the Royal Knights to chase that hero but now that he met his hero, he was only disappointing him. 

He knew he was not good enough compared to the Emperor but he never knew the gap would be this much. 

He grinded his teeth.

‘Even if I get hit, if it’s not lethal I will still stab.’

Eric reminded himself of the basics of fighting an enemy and glowed his eyes. 

He was not shaken by the hypocrisy that he is turning his sword toward the Emperor to be recognized by him. 

Eric, the second physically excellent knight after Brigitta in the 2nd Order of the Knights, was ready to cling on to winning today.
