Chapter 79 Beef My Wasteland Ep. 5 - Recruitment

After breakfast, Leon went to observe how recruitment was going with a dark chocolate pudding cup in his hand and a grin on his face. He looked like a child as he walked around, leaving a bright smile on Caitlyn and Lindy's faces.

Leon was interested to know how Kazz and Kern protected the women moving to Harem City. So he wanted to validate what Petra said and perform a quality assurance review of the process.

"Yo." Leon said with a slight wave to Kazz, laying on a wall [outside of the barrier] with her eyes closed. She was so relaxed in a non-safe zone that it made him laugh in disbelief.

The bewildering part was that the woman was only 20 feet from the barrier, which made it impossible for her to be attacked.

"Ey, what's up, chief?" Kazz asked with one eye opened.

"You look like you're working hard." Leon chuckled.

"I kill shit when shit needs killed." The tigress replied casually, "Otherwise, I'm not workin'. Gettin' the job done is all that matters, and right now, we're a 98% retrieval rate."

"I like that attitude." Leon said while looking in the distance, "But how do you have such a high retrieval rate?"

"Hah! Just wait until the first recruit of the day shows up. You'll see." Kazz laughed before closing her eyes again.

Leon narrowed his eyes and waited by the barrier for new recruits. It didn't take long until he saw what was happening.

"Please let me down!" A blonde woman screamed in the distance.

"I don't want to die!" Another woman, a brunette, cried with tears rolling down her cheeks.

He shut his eyes and took a deep breath. "This is inspirationally efficient, but we'll have to change tactics once the Sanctuary Event is over."

"This is amazing!" Lindy cried with a grin on her face.

"Why is [this] amazing?" Leon chuckled breathlessly.

"Because now everyone knows how amazing your airlift service was!" She replied with a wide grin, "Your reputation will skyrocket."

"And Harem City's will tank." He muttered with a wry smile.

A new video was posted immediately after Lindy's statement as if the gods waited for a quote for the video title.

Leon stared at a flock of massive birds carrying women toward the barrier in their talons with a wry smile. Only one word came to mind. Kern.

The Viking woman flew 100 feet in the air on a full-sized Gryphon. A real Gryphon. It was a large winged bird with a lion's body.

She sat suspended, casually scrolling through her gifts with a wide grin. The woman saw Leon's eye burrowing into her soul, but she couldn't care less.

The beast general didn't know much. However, she knew something certain: Leon Traxler would not punish her for what she was doing. He'd find it too efficient.

Twenty females flew at him directly, proof the woman was showing off. Leon scoff-laughed but also couldn't blame her.

In a surreal state of disbelief, one candidate after the other got dropped up in front of him.

"A-Am I alive?" A Hispanic candidate asked in disbelief, "I-I'm alive."

She looked up to check her surroundings and found Leon Traxler, the most famous candidate in the world.

The woman came here to join him in Harem City, but now she looked horrified, staring at him. She felt like he was a predator luring women into his harem with video editing.

Leon sighed and closed his eyes.

"Welcome to Harem City." He said in greeting, "Forgive me for my haremite's rude greeting. Please pass through the barrier and find a redheaded woman. She'll take you to Hygeia's counseling service to get you fixed… feeling better."

She stared at him for a moment in a frozen state. However, he had already ignored her.

"Welcome to Harem City." Leon said to another woman.

"Welcome to Harem City; please join the group inside to await counseling." Leon said in a monotonous tone after the fiftieth potential recruit arrived.

"Look, chief. Relax and give it up." Kazz chuckled with her fingers laced behind her head.

"You're not gonna improve your reputation by greeting terrified women.

They probably see you as a demon lord since the first thing they're seein' after their traumatic entrance is your face."

Leon looked to the sky. "That's a great point. Do you think I should stop this?"

"Just say the word, and I'll cut the bitch." Caitlyn said while wrapping her arms around Leon.

"No need, sweetheart." He said.

"I'll boil her alive." Lindy said while tugging on his sleeve, unconfident in hugging him like Caitlyn. She wanted to get special treatment.

"Get over here, gorgeous." He chuckled while lifting his left arm to embrace her. Lindy's eyes lit up, and she instantly ran into his arms.

Caitlyn didn't dislike Lindy anymore. She was just glad that Leon called her sweetheart.

"Hah. That's not helpin' your demon lord image." Kazz laughed.

"I'm over it." Leon chuckled, "They're alive, and there's counseling. I'm just salty that Kern's not picking them up [before] slaughtering all the men around them."

"So you're not fazed that she's slaughtering all the men on sight instead of at least warnin' them?" The tigres chuckled.

"Hell no. If any man still tries coming here after watching a montage of the Paradise Road event, they're stupid, or they're trying to kidnap women in bandit traps." Leon scoffed, "Either way, they deserve to die."

Kazz chuckled in bewilderment. "Hah. When you put it that way, I don't see why I'm sittin' around."

Leon grinned when he saw her stretching her limps and brushing dirt off her golden black-striped ears. "I think you're right. Why don't we make a demonstration."

The woman gave him an evil grin and then turned to Caitlyn. "Hey, can ya give me a lift?"

Caitlyn looked at Leon, waiting for his answer. He nodded with a grin, leaving a warm smile on her face.

"I suppose so." The blonde replied straightly, "But you're holding onto my leg."

"Hah. That's even better." Kazz replied.

"Hold up." Leon requested.

Then look at him in confusion, wondering if he had changed his mind.

He opened the Forbidden Library and hit the [Live Record] button. The second he hit the button, the viewers ticked up to twenty, fifty, and two hundred in a matter of seconds.

"Hello, men. My name is Leon Traxler, and if you don't know who I am, you're either dumb or technologically impaired." He said with a grin.

​ Lindy's eyes lit up with excitement, and she immediately winced from the sensation she got between her legs.

Kazz chuckled, and Caitlyn gave him an endearing smile.

"As of today, the Sanctuary Event has ended for you all." Leon declared.

"Lemmox Sanctuary is now Harem City, and there are doubtlessly men out there who are using our offer to trap women like bandits.

Anyone male stupid enough to come this way has to be. Therefore, we're treating all men as bandits and will slaughter them on sight.

Not just on the strips. If you get within 50 miles of this place, we'll kill you."

The number of viewers exploded. It counted up to 25,000 by the end of his declaration.

"If you're scoffing, then keep watching." Leon said with an evil grin, "Because we're going bandit hunting."

After saying that, Caitlyn summoned her wings, and he hopped onto her back. Lindy strapped into her harness, and Kazz hopped onto her legs. The three took flight and made their way to Kern.
