Erik couldn't stop laughing; the urge was too strong. The young man felt a sense of elation when he killed the five monsters, and claiming thaids' lives was becoming easier as time went on.

Later Erik left the forest and went to Mister Fox's farm to work as usual. Nothing happened there besides the fact that the old man hired five more people to work in the fields.

Thanks to Erik's powers, it looked like Mister Fox could finally buy the land bordering his farm and upgrade his plots of land, increasing his income considerably.

There was still much work to do, but the old man could exploit Erik at least until the end of August, so he knew that he could easily earn again the money he spent on the new fields.

Erik then returned to school, where he trained with the other students and completed his daily quest. The training was gruesome, as usual, but the young man could keep up with it thanks to the abnormal strength he acquired through leveling. After that, Erik went back home after a short trip to the train station.

As Erik entered his apartment, he jumped on his couch and relaxed.

"What a day..." the young man said. He was drained, but he knew that his day wasn't ending there and that he had to do a couple more things before going to bed.

Erik observed his stat; hehe still had five attribute points to spend. What Erik needed right now was to improve his training speed and his aim. This could be done only by increasing dexterity since it improved his eye-hand coordination.

He would be able to easily replicate any move professor McAllister showed him, he would be able to react easily to incoming attacks, and his aim will improve drastically.

"Yes...Let's do this... System, put five attribute points into dexterity."

As the changes occurred inside Erik's body, he started perceiving things differently. He could see objects better with every look he gave. It was as if the world around him had become more detailed. He could sense everything at once, almost as if time had stopped. This feeling gave Erik an overwhelming sense of freedom.

Now it was time to unlock the Lomalin's power. Erik knew that time was required for this part to be done, so the young man asked, "System, how much time is required to obtain the Lomalin's brain crystal power?"

Mana began to whirl inside Erik's body. It was like a fire raged inside him, destroying everything in its path. Then, the usual warm spread inside of him, starting from his abdomen and going from there to his extremities, reaching every part of his body and lastly going out of it.

"At least this isn't painful," the young man said. As he lay there, his head began to spin and his vision to blur. His eyes eventually shut, and he started to lose consciousness.

After the required time ended, Erik woke up. He didn't feel any different, but he knew that a significant change had happened to his brain crystal.

Erik, started immediately channeling mana through his crystal by following the instincts he gained while unlocking this new power. After a little bit, bones started growing out of his skin, encasing him in a sort of armor.

What Erik just unlocked was an amazing defensive power, and besides, it also slightly altered his physique, making it hard to find out who he was by his body shape. Even his face wasn't distinguishable anymore due to the bone going out of his skin.

Though the power was E-ranked, meaning that the mana consumption was incredibly high, and he wasn't probably able to sustain the armor for a lot of time.

"Well, its better than nothing... Now... better start making those Neural links...."

Erik then sat on his couch and went into the lotus position. He started concentrating and channeling mana, spending the rest of his available time trying to make the links. Though this was a hard and long process, and Erik couldn't make any progress that night.

After the young man finished, he looked at his watch and saw that he still had a little bit of time to do something; he then went to his computer and checked the news.

He hoped that he would be able to leave this country sooner or later, and such a device would come in handy to do so... He could only hope that things would go the right way and that the release time would not be so far.
