Chapter 14: Peaceful Phone Call

Inside the spatial house, Fang Jian conducted careful observations and research. Over the past month, Fang Jian had meticulously measured every inch of the space with his hands.

Initially, he believed he had uncovered all the secrets of this place. However, after gaining access to the spatial warehouse management authority, Fang Jian realized he had barely scratched the surface. This spatial house held many special functions waiting to be explored. For instance, Fang Jian had always thought that only the objects he touched could be brought in or out of space.

However, after obtaining cards for other spatial warehouses, Fang Jian discovered that once he had control over the space, he could even manipulate it remotely with his thoughts.

When he focused on the spatial house, he could gradually sense everything outside the space. He could perceive his bedroom, which was currently empty.

Previously, Fang Jian couldn’t sense anything outside while in the spatial house. But now, with his expanding awareness, Fang Jian had started to utilize and develop the spatial house further.

When he concentrated his mind, he could perceive the outside world. This perception expanded to cover a considerable distance as his mental consciousness spread throughout the entire spatial house. It was as if his spatial house had descended upon and enveloped the primary world.

With a mere thought, a table from the primary world vanished and appeared inside the spatial house. Another thought and the living room sofa disappeared as well.

Fortunately, there was no one at home at that time. Those who were supposed to be at work were indeed at work, and those who should have been at the kindergarten were indeed there. Otherwise, someone might have thought they’d seen a ghost.

With everything settled, Fang Jian left the spatial house. However, as soon as he returned, his phone in his pocket began to ring urgently.

Fang Jian answered, and Lv Ding’s voice was on the other end.

“Fang Jian, how was your trip back home?” Lv Ding asked.

Fang Jian smiled and replied, “It was fine. Thanks to Lv Ding for granting me the vacation.”

“Hehe, Fang Jian, you’ve been with the company for so long, and it’s been two years since you last went home. It’s only natural for you to make a trip back.”

Fang Jian listened to Lv Ding’s roundabout talk but didn’t get to the point. Unable to hold back, he asked, “Lv Ding, do you have any instructions for me?”

“Hehe, Fang Jian, you’re still clever,” Lv Ding hesitated momentarily and said, “I heard from a friend that you ordered a batch of cement in Abidjan?”

Fang Jian was greatly surprised and asked, “Lv Ding, how did you know?”

He had only been in contact with Babuli and knew that Babuli was very discreet. When it came to business matters, he would never speak carelessly.

“Haha, Fang Jian, don’t be nervous. Some friends asked me to inquire about it. If you need any help, feel free to ask,” Lv Ding said slowly.

Countless thoughts raced through Fang Jian’s mind. He immediately thought of the four men who escorted the gold that day. He couldn’t believe they weren’t elite special forces.

Furthermore, there were other vehicles providing backup before and after that car. Fang Jian knew that although their company was state-owned, they couldn’t set up such a scene. So, it was easy to imagine who was pulling the strings behind the scenes.

“Lv Ding, what… do you want to say?” Fang Jian asked in a deep voice.

Lv Ding laughed and said, “Nothing much, just someone wanted me to tell you that as long as it’s for the good of the country, don’t have too many concerns.”

Fang Jian remained silent.

Lv Ding paused momentarily and continued, “Oh, by the way, regarding the gold incident, the headquarters has decided to reward you with a special bonus of 2 million. This money will go through a special channel and won’t be subject to personal income tax.”

Fang Jian’s heart skipped a beat, and he suddenly said, “Lv Ding, there’s something I need to confess to you.”

“Oh, go ahead,” Lv Ding said.

Fang Jian slowly spoke, “Although the price of that batch of gold was very low, I took a portion for myself. Because I needed to establish connections…”

“Fang Jian,” Lv Ding interrupted and said, “I don’t understand what you’re talking about. All I know is that your price was already the lowest in the world. Rest assured, no one will investigate anything.”

Hearing the assurance from the other side, Fang Jian breathed a sigh of relief. He knew that the transaction going to the offshore company in Cayman could not remain hidden. But it was clear that the other party had no intention of pursuing it.

“Haha, you can trust me on that,” Fang Jian replied.

Lv Ding casually mentioned, “By the way, my old friend’s company is currently short on nickel. I wonder if you have any way to acquire it.”
